In Eden — Data Deletion Request

This page explains how to request deletion of your In Eden account and personal data, what gets deleted, what (and why) we may retain, and how long the process takes. This page satisfies the App Store's Data Deletion requirement (Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v)) and is referenced in our Privacy Policy (Section 7).
How to Request Deletion
You have three ways to request the deletion of your account and personal data:
Option 1: In-App (Fastest)
- Open the In Eden app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete My Data.
- Confirm your decision. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to prevent accidental deletion.
- You'll receive a confirmation email within minutes acknowledging your request.
Option 2: Email
Send an email to privacy@ineden.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request", including:
- The email address associated with your In Eden account
- Your name as it appears on your profile
- Confirmation that you wish to permanently delete your account
We will respond within 5 business days to confirm receipt and may ask one or two verification questions to confirm you own the account.
Option 3: Web Form
Visit https://ineden.app/data-deletion and fill out the request form. You'll receive an automated confirmation email and a personalized response within 5 business days.
What Happens Next
Within 5 business days
We confirm receipt of your request and verify your identity (typically just by confirming you can access the email associated with the account).
Within 30 days
We complete the deletion and send you a final confirmation email. The 30-day window aligns with GDPR Article 17 and equivalent U.S. state laws.
After 30 days
Your account no longer exists. Backups containing your data roll off our systems within an additional 30 days, completing the full deletion cycle.
What Gets Deleted

What We May Retain (and Why)
The law requires us to keep certain records even after you request deletion. We retain only the minimum necessary, encrypted, with restricted access.

Special Situations
If You Are an Active Subscriber
Account deletion will:
- iOS subscriptions: stop renewing. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. Apple controls iOS subscriptions; cancellation goes through Apple ID settings.
- Web (Stripe) subscriptions: stop renewing immediately. You retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- No refund for the unused portion, except where required by law or under the In Eden 90-Day Friendship Guarantee (see Terms of Service, Section 5.9) if you qualify and submit a claim before deleting.
If you have a Founding Member lifetime tier, deletion ends your lifetime access permanently. We cannot restore Founding Member status after deletion.
If You Are a Founder, Partner, or Vendor
Your business profile, group, and any uploaded resources are deleted with your account. Members who joined your group will see "Group no longer available" and any past events you hosted will be anonymized.
If you want to transfer ownership of your group to someone else before deletion, contact support@ineden.app at least 14 days before requesting deletion.
If You Are Involved in an Open Safety Report
If a Report is open against you or filed by you, we may pause your deletion until the safety review concludes. We will email you with an estimated timeline.
If You Have an Active Subscription Trial or Beta Code Redemption
These end on deletion. Beta codes are not transferable; once redeemed, deletion forfeits the remaining trial.
Data Portability (GDPR + CCPA)
If you'd like to download a copy of your data before deletion, request it via privacy@ineden.app with the subject "Data Export Request". We provide:
- Profile information
- Posts, DMs, and reactions you authored
- RSVP history
- Subscription history
We deliver the export as a JSON file via secure download link, typically within 14 days.
Your Right to Withdraw the Deletion Request
You can cancel your deletion request within 14 days of submitting it by replying to the confirmation email or emailing privacy@ineden.app. After 14 days, deletion proceeds and is irreversible.
Verifying Your Request
For security, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request. We will not require excessive verification — typically, confirming you can access the registered email is enough. We will never ask you to share your account password.
